28th

Today was the first day of presenting. The projects were fun and cool. I liked briannes group, it was funny. We were supposed to do ours first but kayla had a lacrosse game and got us out of it. My project broke so that was a good thing for me. i might redo mine but idk i should be able to fix it. I wish I was in Sydney Queens class though because her groups video was funny and I want to see what the class is going to think of it.

Today in class, we worked on our projects again. We finished our powerpoint and its looking pretty good. I am happy with what we have done so far. Kendall  has already finished her project as well as Kayla. Emma and I still have to finish ours. We almost all know what we are doing. I think instead of a bident, I might make one of Hades golden keys. I think its cooler then just some stick plus it will be more fun to make.

Today we took the class period to work on our projects. We almost finished our power point and started on our paper. I thought I knew what I was going to do for my project but i kept changing it. I think I decided on making Hades Bident. I am not so sure i know what im going to make it out of but at least i have more of an idea.

I am not in school...but im pretty sure we took a test and i heard it was really hard.

March 21

Today in class we finished the power point, or came pretty close to it. we learned about Draco and the other first leaders. I find it funny that we made his name into an adjective when he was born so many years ago and is kinda irrelevant in todays world. Also its so cool that we still use the same way of government in as the ancient greeks to run our government today. A man named cliethman or something, after almost getting kicked out of Athens. Im glad the people backed him up in the end though. If not we probably would not be as successful as we are today without Democracy. Or maybe another better form of government would have been formed, who knows.

March 20

today in class we took notes on a power point. class was pretty okay. I don't like taking notes though, its kinda boring but it wasn't that bad. We learned about ancient Greece and what they were like back then. I like Greece, its very pretty. I want to visit there some time, maybe like a month long stay and get a little serving job at a place over looking a white beach. But that will never happen, maybe my honey moon. We learned about our project a couple days ago and im kinda nervous because its coming up very soon. Hopefully I will be able to get a good grade on it and start off the last quarter of my freshmen year on the right note.

Project day

Todays class was okay. We were told we have a 100 point project due in April. we have to pick our groups and topic related to ancient Greece. Im with Kayla, Kendall  , and Emma. im happy with my group and excited on what we are going to do. I am pretty sure we are do the mythology of Greece focusing on four of them. I am going to do research on Hades, and kayla, emma, and kendall  are doing Apolo, Zeus, and the sea God. Our project is going to be good because we work really well together and all pitch in on work. kinda looking forward to it.

The video thing

1. How long did it take Odysseus to return home from the Trojan War? It took 10 years to get home 2. According to Google Maps, how long should this trip have taken? 2 weeks 3. According to archeological evidence, when did the Trojan War occur? 12th century BC 4. When did Homer compose  The Odyssey ? 8th century BC 5. What is the definition of “epic poem”?  6. Who is Odysseus’ wife?  Penelopey 7. Who is Odysseus’ son? T elemachus 8. What happens in the cave of the Cyclops? people  would settle in the caves and feast on cheese the cyclops was hoarding and instead of getting more gifts the cyclopses killed them. Odysseus stabbed a cyclops in the eye after getting him drunk. the Cyclopses curse his men to die as punishment.  9. Is Odysseus a hero? Why or why not? Even though he is selfish, rude, cruel, and a trickster, he is a hero because to the greeks a hero means someone who has an amazin...

Today in class we learned about Greece and a little about the Holocaust. Survivors from the holocaust visited to share there story and what they saw/ witnessed. It is amazing to think that the holocaust only happened a couple decades ago and still could happen again. It really hit me when Mr. Schick explained that the people are scared that once they die, their story will no longer be told and it will happen all over again. The events that happened are just so scary to think about and what those people had to go through is awful. The rest of class though, we worked on a powerpoint and finished some book work on Greece.

4/7/19

Today in class we took a test on Ancient Egypt. I did very well and am happy with my result. Now we start our unit on ancient Greece. I love Greece, its so beautiful and i love how it surrounds waters. I have always wanted to visit Greece and all the ancient buildings still there. I find it so cool how we still use there form of government today in our daily lives. Also, there city-states are so spread out it amazes me that they were so connected as a unit. Plus, they lack very important natural resources like wood, and metals. You would never have expected a country to build such a strong nation with such small amounts of need materials.

Today in class, we went over the power point again from the beginning and went over the worksheet. I took some notes, but not a lot. We only had like one slide still to go.  But I was told which terms to know from the worksheet and filled in the answers I didn't now, which was a lot.
